September 20, 2010

I know this is no excuse, but I keep forgetting to post to this thing!  Last weekend my son came in from college and I had him set his Beatles Rockband up so we could play and I could see what was so fun about it.  I decided to play the bass - it was the easiest, my son played guitar and my daughter played the drums.  Was it that I love the Beatles and love singing along to their songs?  Was it the fact that I was hanging out with my kids which doesn't happen very often now that they have gotten older?  I don't know which one it was, but it was alot of fun!  Of course, my fingers weren't very nimble and I never had many points, but watching the graphics on screen, singing along, and trying to keep up really was fun.  My son was fantastic at it - he started taking banjo lessons this summer, and says that playing the guitar on rockband has helped him alot with finger placement and agility.  My daugther wasn't the best at the drums, but she enjoyed trying to keep up and we all enjoy belting out Hey Jude - out of tune of course.  I see where this type of game could be alot of fun for families.  It brings them together in a good old fashion way - like back in my days when we used to play board games!

  1. Those games are fun. Being a gamer for many years I just couldn't see the fun of playing these types of games. That was until I was at a friend's house and he gave me a demo of it. I am happy to say that I do enjoy the games even if my fingers don't work well enough to get high scores. I will say that my 7 and 5 year old children do love these games because of the music and graphics.
